Airport CollectionWe can arrange to collect you from the airport on your arrival. The cost is €40 (8am to 9pm), €50 (9pm to midnight). Return to the airport can also be arranged at the same rates. If you are arriving between midnight and 8am please pick up a taxi at the airport. You will be advised of a contact name and mobile phone number for your airport collection. Car RentalWe highly recommend that you use CAFISA for your car hire. They offer an excellent, reliable service with highly competitive, all-inclusive prices. A small, air conditioned car costs approx. 25 euros per day. Email for a price to - roberto@cafisarentacar.com and quote "Balcon De Mijas" as the reference. State whether 3/5 door, air-con, manual/automatic. You are advised to book early, especially during the busy summer months. CAFISA will arrange for your car to be delivered to either Balcon De Mijas or for your arrival at Malaga airport. Cars can be dropped off at the airport on your departure. CAFISA will issue instructions for uplift/drop off on confirmation of your booking.
Alternatively, cars can be arranged through Jean Davies. Directions from Malaga AirportMijas is a 25 minute car journey from the airport. On leaving Malaga airport, the road takes you right to a roundabout. Keep in the right hand lane and go straight over at the roundabout passing the San Miguel Brewery on your right. Stay in the right hand lane of the dual carriageway and follow the signs to CADIZ. After about 300 yards, you will see the slip road on the right to Cadiz. Take it and you will find yourself on the N340 dual carriageway towards Cadiz and Torremolinos. Stay on this road for about 3km. Move into the right hand lane at the CARRANZA sign and take the right turning signed BENALMADENA AND ALGECIRAS (E15/A7). Continue on the motorway. (Note: Do not take the first exit for Mijas – Exit 217 as this is the scenic route to Mijas (sign has a little camera) and is a more difficult drive). Stay on the motorway until the sign FUENGIROLA AND MIJAS – A7 Exit 214. Stay in the right hand lane for the MIJAS turn off – Exit 213 A387. Take the right turn at the big roundabout and head up the hill. You will pass CASA NAVARRA restaurant on your left hand side. As you enter the village there is a BP garage on your left. Go round the two little roundabouts, bearing left, following signs for Mijas (Centro). Keep heading into the village. When the road splits stay on the upper most road and you’ll pass a CFG sign on your right. Keep going straight and the road will narrow and become cobbled. Drive slowly and carefully from now on as the street is one way, very narrow, and full of pedestrians. Keep going until you see a café bar straight ahead of you called Café Bar Porras. Turn right and continue down the narrow road. After a few minutes you’ll see a church ahead of you, and the road splits into two. Don’t take either of these roads. Instead turn SHARP LEFT. You will see a sign on the left saying “Bar/Rest Alarcon”. Go down hill past the bar and a little further on you will see wrought iron gates and a sign saying “Balcon De Mijas”.
